Here's a way to chop up an
Audio Region into segments based
on MIDI note data. For example, let's say you played a MIDI
line and recorded the audio of that MIDI. Then you could
chop up the audio region based on the very same notes that
created it.
1) Create a Transformer in the Environment. Set the Status
condition to NOTE. Set the Status operation to Controller,
and the first byte's paramater to an unused controller number
(say, #45).
2) Cable this transformer to the Physical Input object.
3) Make sure the icon for this transformer is turned on. Now
make it appear as an Arrange track. This is where the MIDI
region should be placed.
4) In Key Commands, find "Split Objects At Song Position".
Press "Learn MIDI" and input the controller # in question (say,
#45). Press the "MIDI Remote" button.
5) Select the Audio region in the Arrange and press play. You
will now see the Audio region get chopped up everytime a note
plays in the MIDI region.
