Massenburg DesignWorks MDW Hi-Res Parametric EQ.

This plug-in EQ for Pro Tools|HD TDM systems helps the user arrive at the desired result quickly.
An intuitive front end makes the operation simple and effective.

It is a product of many hours of design and listening by the creator of parametric equalisers, George Massenburg. The EQ is very smooth with no smearing and delivers clear sounding results.

MDW is a five band parametric equaliser with up to 24db of gain or attenuation on each band. Frequency selection is from 10 Hz to 41 kHz. It will run in sessions up to 192kHz. The double precision processing is done at 48-bit with a hi-resolution 96kHz sampling rate. This produces an excellent high-frequency response.

All five bands have peak/dip modes with frequency, Q and db controls, low & high shelf modes with frequency & db controls and lowpass & highpass 6 & 12 db per octave modes with frequency controls only. The first & fifth bands
have additional modes of lowpass & highpass bands of 18 & 24 db per octave.

There is an in/out switch for each of the five bands and the master bypass mode. The master input level is adjustable from +6 to -24. It will run in applications from mono to surround. It has a visual EQ. graph that can show a scale of 6, 12 or 24 db of boost or cut.

If you have something you want to change or play with the tonal balance of try this.

Open MDE EQ on the item you want to work with. It can be full program or a single track. Use one of the middle three bands in the peak/dip mode. Try boosting in the range of about seven db. Slide the frequency selector back
and forth through the frequencies until you identify a 'honkie' kind of frequency range in the sound. Now make the change from boosting this range to attenuating or cutting back on the frequency selected. Once you have eliminated the problematic frequency, play with the Q or width of the frequency selected to fine tune the effect and amount.

This should give you a quick and effective way to realise your desired equilization effect with minimal time and effort.
